My kids love Minecraft right now. You know how when we were kids we used to build mud pies when we were outside? My kids build Minecraft forts… lol. So they just about died when I turned their regular rice krispie treats into Creeper Treats.
Creeper Rice Krispie Treats
Turn regular rice krispie treats into something special!
Recipe type: Treat
- 8 Rice Krispie Treats (homemade or store bought)
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- ¼ Cup Crisco Shortening
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 2 Tsp Water
- Green Food Coloring
- Red Food Coloring
- Blue Food Coloring
- Yellow Food Coloring
- 1 Ziploc Bag
- In medium mixing bowl, mix shortening, sugar, vanilla and water. Mix with beaters until fully blended. Scoop out two tablespoons and place into another bowl and set aside. Now in the larger bowl add 13 drops of green food coloring. Mix until fully blended.
- Using a frosting spatula, coat one side of the rice krispie treats with the green frosting. Put them on a plate and set aside.
- Now in the small bowl with the two tablespoons of white frosting, add four drops each of red, blue, and yellow food coloring. Mix until fully blended. Place the now black frosting in a ziploc bag and squeeze into one corner. Cut off the very tip of that corner of the bag. Make sure you do not cut to much as you want the hole to be very small. Using the bagged frosting, make two small squares on the upper half of the frosted krispie treat. Then below and between make another small square with an upside down squared off U.
